My Data Page

My Summary Page gives an overall summary of the findings.

This is the overall trend of social media and mental health. There have been many spikes in the graph due to different reasons. There was a major dip between December 24 - December 30 2017. This could be because most people are spending time with family and friends during this time and are not as preocupied with issues like mental health. People may be more disconnected with social media in order to have more in person connections. Recently there has been a major spike in social media between August 5 to August 11 2018 while mental health remained relatively constant. This could potentially be due to all the news surrounding many social media platforms such as Facebook. Social media and mental health have had pretty similar trends which demonstrates that there must be a key relationship between the two.

This shows the percentage of searches for social media and mental health in the United States. Most states are close to 50-50 or are slightly more concerned about mental health. Only Arizona, Texas, Hawaii, Georgia, and New Jersey search more about social media. Some states such as Alaska, Montana, and Maine are more obviously concerned with mental health. The trends of social media and mental health are very similar in the majority of the states.
